The Mallick Trust operates various activities under is wing. Following are some ongoing and upcoming initiatives.
Scholarship to underprivileged students. Currently the Trust and its trustee Mr. Abir Mallick provides 14 scholarships to underprivileged students and one scholarship for professional development for a teacher through Grameen shikkah.
Food and essentials support to underprivileged. In 2020 when covid-19 pandemic hit Bangladesh the Trust funded food for underprivileged people. Meals for all Bangladesh movement was initiated by the trust to provide cooked food to people requiring support. This initiative provided a cooked meal to approximately 300 homes every day for 9 months. As part of this initiative we also provided food to stray animals(e.g. Dogs, Cats, Birds) on the streets of Dhaka to support them through the hard time when food was scares for both human and animals.
After the covid-19 pandemic Meals for all Bangladesh now provides food, clothes and other basic amenities to underprivileged children and young adults in the local slums around Dhaka City.
Primary Healthcare. The Trust is in the process of setting up a primary healthcare for the slum dwellers near Vatara, Dhaka. This will provide basic healthcare support to underprivileged people and slum duelers in the area. There is in an excess of 300,000 people who live in the surrounding areas and slums.
This primary health care will provide most of its services for free or at negligible cost to the people around the area. Some of the services proposed from this primary health care are as follows:
- GP consultation for common ilness
- Diabetes check
- Blood pressure check
- Antenatal advice
- Sexual health advice
- Government hospital admission guidance
- Infant care advice
- Hygiene and healthy living advice
- Basic support with injuries and emergency care support
